Guess what???

I didn't have camera handy at the moment. I was watching children playing outside when I saw a bird fly over. I nearly didn't believe my eyes!

BALD EAGLE

Yup, I saw a mature bald eagle flying over right above head! I knew there is a few along DesMoines River but this far from any watershed? Unless they are seeking to settle along Raccoon River? That's possible. I have yet to hear of confirmed sighting tying these big birds to Raccoon River.

Guess what? I saw my first eagle when I was about 26 in upper part of lower Michigan.

They are truly coming back rather strong. I grew up knowing Bald Eagle is close to dying out.

Praise the Lord! They are a sight to behold....

I need to add that to my on-off bird list that I've seen right around here!!!
